How to HELP

The Little Voice team believes active public engagement is a necessary ingredient to lasting social change and we are committed to our Community Outreach Programs that seek to speak out against poverty, inequality and social justice while simultaneously celebrating diverse cultures, international solidarity and collective actions.

We encourage you to keep informed about our events, campaigns and programs in Canada and abroad through our events calendar. We regularly engage in community actions and events such as:

  • Ethiopian community dinners at local restaurants
  • Youth Engagement Presentations
  • Community Events and talks

When you attend a Little Voice fundraiser OR when you make a monetary donation you are contributing to our programs, which support children in a number of ways, such as:

  • Subsidize school fees for over 200 students
  • Providing school materials, uniforms and food for our students
  • Paying the salaries of our local teachers (which contributes to economic growth within the community)
  • Providing healthy meals, art supplies and clothing to the children living at our Home for Children
  • Paying the salaries for our 5 full-time staff who provide excellent care and support to the children in our home
  • Health care costs and visits to the clinic for the children in our Home
  • The health education programs run at our Home for Children by a female nurse and health educator
  • Paying for the maintenance and up keep of our schools and Home for Children
  • Buying sports and recreational materials for our schools
  • Adding to the libraries at our schools
  • Purchasing computers and equipment for our schools

GET INVOLVED!!

All too often individuals are disempowered by the belief that a single person or action is not sufficient to produce social change or make a difference. We are here to tell you otherwise… people are getting involved with Little Voice in many ways that make a HUGE difference. Here are some ideas on how to reach out to your friends, family and community at large for a good cause:

  • Plan a dinner party in support of Little Voice
  • Put on a bake sale at your school, community center, office etc.
  • Instead of gifts, collect donations!
  • Organize a neighbourhood bike ride, run, walk, rollerblade in support of Little Voice

Any event can be used to raise awareness and support for Little Voice so don’t be shy about contacting us with your ideas so that we can send you pamphlets and information about our programs.

Monetary Donations:

Donations can be made online via credit card with Paypal OR you can send cheque/money orders to our Ottawa address. We issue tax receipts for all donations.

Every contribution makes a difference!!
$14 = one months school fees for one child
$95 = one month of full care and support in our home for one child
