Little Voice Foundation is committed to making a difference through community collaboration and partnerships. We engage in direct action by sharing ideas, resources and knowledge with other motivated individuals in order to build community-orientated initiatives.
The Little Voice team in Canada consists of a group of highly motivated individuals who volunteer their time, energy and creativity to developing fundraising events and awareness-raising initiatives. Little Voice is run on 100% volunteer power and although we acknowledge the existence of administrative costs the Canadian team donates yearly to cover them. This ensure that ALL money raised from our events, campaigns and all the money donated by individuals and businesses goes DIRECTLY to the children we support.

Our partners in Ethiopia, Voice for Street Children Ethiopia (VSCE), are a group of passionate and committed individuals who work directly with the children and engage in staff capacity building training programs. Headed by the spirited Ashenafi and Hailu, VSCE is registered as a local Ethiopian NGO and functions as an organic, collaborative organization that works on removing the barriers faced by vulnerable children in Ethiopia.
Our actions and initiatives are developed and applied using the principles of empowerment and sustainability in order to ensure continued community collaboration and the long term success of our initiatives.
Sustainability
LV uses community resources in order to create sustainable projects and provide the community with a vehicle through which to contribute to a positive solution to some of the social issues within their country. Sustainability means using the information, skill, resources, energy and enthusiasm that are found in the community to meet actual community needs. This makes our projects more likely to achieve longevity as they do not impose foreign ideas of what is needed and nor to they depend on importing materials from foreign communities.
Empowerment
At Little Voice we define the concept of empowerment with the concepts of choice and control. We do not try to decide the future of an individual or community, nor do we attempt to mould them into what we feel is best. We believe that by removing the barriers that restrict access to resources individuals and their communities at large will be able to grow and evolve based on informed choice. We employ a non-oppressive relationship which enables full participation and input by our partners.
